What Are Cookies & Web Storage?
Cookies are small text files downloaded to your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used by modern web applications to enable core security, retain visitor preferences (such as light or dark themes), and gather aggregate usage insights.
In addition to cookies, web browsers utilize Local Storage and Session Storage, which store small key-value strings directly on your client device without transmitting them in network request headers.
How AUX STUDIO Uses Cookies
AUX STUDIO takes a privacy-first approach. We strictly limit cookie usage to: - Essential Operations: Secure authentication, CSRF protection, and theme persistence. - Blog Interaction: A pseudonymous identifier that prevents duplicate view and like counts without requiring an account. - Analytics: Aggregate, privacy-respecting measurement of site performance and content popularity. - Advertising: Google AdSense tags that fund the free technical articles we publish.
Detailed Cookie Categories
- Strictly Necessary: Session and authentication cookies (for example, Clerk session cookies such as __session and __client_uat). These are required for the site and admin portal to function and cannot be switched off in our systems.
- Preferences: A theme cookie that remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. Sets no personal identifier beyond your choice.
- Blog Interaction: aux_blog_vid — a pseudonymous, randomly generated identifier used to prevent duplicate views and likes. It is not linked to your name or email.
- Analytics: Aggregate measurement cookies (for example, Google Analytics _ga and _ga_*). IP addresses are anonymized where the tooling supports it.
- Advertising: Google AdSense cookies such as __gads and IDE, which support ad delivery and frequency capping.
Google AdSense & Advertising
We may display advertising served by Google AdSense to support the free technical content on this site. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. Where required by law, we present a consent mechanism before non-essential advertising cookies are set.
Analytics & Performance Metrics
We utilize Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Vercel Analytics to understand aggregated visitor trends, including which technical tutorials are read most frequently, average page load times, and responsive rendering performance.
IP addresses transmitted to GA4 are automatically anonymized, and Google Analytics data is not used to identify individual people or cross-reference private business inquiries.
Blog Pseudonymous Identifier
When you read our blog, we assign a secure cookie named aux_blog_vid containing a randomly generated identifier (UUID). - It is not linked to your email address, phone number, or real-world identity; - It prevents bots from inflating blog post view counts (at most 1 view is recorded per visitor per post per day); - It allows you to like articles without requiring a forced user account registration; - Clearing your browser cookies destroys the token and issues a completely new one upon your next visit.
How to Manage & Disable Cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. All major browsers let you block cookies, delete existing cookies, and set per-site preferences. Blocking essential cookies may break login and portal functionality.
You can manage cookies in your browser's privacy settings. Specific instructions are available in your browser's help documentation.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) & DNT
Some browsers send a Do Not Track (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. We honor GPC where technically feasible for advertising and analytics cookies. Because DNT is not standardized, we do not rely on it and instead apply the consent and control mechanisms described in this policy.
Updates to This Cookie Policy
As digital technologies, regulatory mandates, and our studio services evolve, we may revise this Cookie Policy.
Any revisions will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" timestamp. Where changes are material, we will provide a prominent notice or seek renewed consent where required by law.
